- Reviewing packaging options to reduce waste
- Examining shipping routes for fuel conservation
- Incorporating eco-friendly materials for event needs
- Leveraging data and technology to reduce redundant activity, particularly regarding travel, event registration and workflow
- Working with local vendors to minimize travel needs
- Working with caterers, properties, destinations and other event service providers that support our initiatives and have their own internal sustainability policies with particular care to use members of the Green Meetings Industry Council when possible

- Utilize green meeting and event practices for all event programs where possible
- Support the creation and implementation of APEX standards for the meetings and events industry
- Established telephone and web conferencing options to reduce internal travel when possible
- Established recycling programs
- Utilizing post-consumer materials, such as paper towels, bathroom tissue and paper needs
- 100% telecommuting of staff to reduce our carbon footprint and increase worker productivity and job satisfaction
- Reviewing event ground transportation routing to conserve gas and reduce emissions
- Turning off lights and reducing furnace and air conditioning when not in use
- Utilizing technology to reduce paper and mail volume internally and externally

- Using compact fluorescent lights
- Regulating thermostats and turning down water heaters to reduce carbon emissions
- Inflating car tires to increase gas mileage performance
- Purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified appliances and technology
- Participating in community recycling and clean-up efforts
